Chelsea star Cole Palmer has this week become the latest player to speak publicly on his admiration for the talents of Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal.
And safe to say, the Englishman has been nothing short of taken aback by Lamine’s explosion onto the world stage…
Wide-man Lamine is of course now widely considered not only football’s standout youngster, but one of the very best in the game as a whole.
Across the season to date, the Spanish international has nothing short of dazzled from his berth on the right flank in Hansi Flick’s Barcelona XI.
All told, Lamine has racked up 40 direct goal contributions, by way of 16 goals, and 24 assists.
Such remarkable production comes despite the fact that the attacker remains just 17 years of age, still in the early stages of his development as a player.
And one individual on whom the significance of as much has not been at all lost is the aforementioned Cole Palmer.
Speaking during an interview with Sky Sports this week, Chelsea standout Palmer was asked for his take on Lamine’s emergence.
And the midfielder was not shy in going as far as to label the Spaniard ‘the best player in the world’:
“Lamine Yamal? It’s mad, innit? I honestly think he’s the best player in the world. I feel like everything they do, goes for him, and when you watch him — [it’s just] mad! He’s got confidence, no fear, and I love watching him.”
