FC Barcelona played out an entertaining 3-3 draw against Club Brugge in the Champions League, with Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez on the scoresheet for the Catalan club.

In the end, it was two points dropped for Hansi Flick’s team, more than one gained, and they currently sit outside the top eight in the League Phase standings halfway through.

Eric Garcia started against Brugge and delivered a decent display. He came very close to scoring an absolute screamer from 40 yards, as his long-range effort thundered off the crossbar.

Late in the game, however, the 24-year-old was on the receiving end of a tackle that left him bleeding from the face. He was eventually substituted, with Pau Cubarsi coming on for the closing stages.

After the game, Eric offered a self-diagnosis of the injury, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo. He said:

“I think he broke my nose.”

A broken nose would take some time to recover from for Eric and, more importantly, it is a very painful ordeal to live with. However, it is highly unlikely to hamper his involvement in upcoming games.

Eric should be good to go with protective gear for his nose, but there is a good chance Hansi Flick chooses to rest him against Celta Vigo this weekend and give him the international break to recover.

With Pau Cubarsi well rested and fresh, he can come in to partner Araujo in the back line, which would hold Barcelona in good stead in the long run.
