Chelsea are having another difficult season, with the Blues currently sat outside the Champions League places in sixth, just two points ahead of tenth placed Sunderland.
Sunday’s 3-0 defeat to Manchester City was their third league defeat in a row, and the Blues last scored a league goal on March 4th in the 4-1 win against Aston Villa.
Liam Rosenior is under growing pressure following the poor run of results, and it appears evident the players don’t believe in his tactics.
Despite vast investment in the squad, there’s still a glaring lack of proven quality, whilst a number of key positions still haven’t been addressed.
Chelsea will reportedly target players with proven Premier League experience this summer, but a lack of leadership is also a huge issue.
Thiago Silva was never properly replaced, and the way Chelsea crumble after every set back they face is a major concern.
Morris feels a lack of leaders has been a real problem, and feels comments made by Cucurella and Fernandez highlight a lack of leadership.
“I think we’ve lacked leaders for a while,” he told Sky Sports as quoted on X.com.
“And then when you’re looking at maybe two of the people that people would class as leaders, as in Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez going away and making comments about the club or the regime, or disappointments about certain things that’s going out of the club, you’re going, well, that’s maybe not a sign of leadership.”
