Ibon Sánchez considered by Cádiz as playmaker option on loan | OneFootball

According to as.com, Cádiz are weighing a loan for Ibon Sánchez as a serious option for their playmaker role.

Athletic plan to send him out to test him outside his comfort zone, with possibilities in the second tier or abroad. Eder García and Ibai Sanz are to join Córdoba on loan.

Cádiz are among the destinations, and Beñat de Jesús is set to arrive from Barakaldo, with his team-mate Endika Bujan also on their radar.

Sánchez, captain of Bilbao Athletic last season, made his Champions League debut against Borussia Dortmund, replacing Maroan Sannadi. He joined the list of youngsters to debut under Ernesto Valverde, including Selton and Hierro.

Valverde felt he showed boldness, produced a dangerous effort, looked lively and combative, and could help. He had turned to Sánchez amid injuries to Sancet, Prados, Vesga and Berenguer, but did not use him again, keeping Selton around the first team.

The Getxo-born midfielder has been a regular for three seasons with Bilbao Athletic, so his cycle there is viewed as complete. He has progressed through Lezama since cadet level, noted for technique, vision between the lines, work rate and a powerful shot.
