Ibon Sánchez is Cádiz’s sixth signing, joins from Athletic’s reserves on deal to 2030 | OneFootball

Cádiz have announced their sixth signing for 26-27, with Ibon Sánchez arriving from Athletic’s reserve side to strengthen attacking midfield. He joins in a permanent deal after an agreement with Athletic and has signed until 2030.

On 18 June, as.com reported the Getxo-born midfielder could join, amid speculation around Luis Chacón, who has signed for Valladolid. He now heads to a team presided over by Christian Septien.

Last season he played 27 matches in Primera Federación for Athletic’s second team, recording five goals and one assist. He also made a Champions League debut under Ernesto Valverde against Borussia Dortmund.

Sánchez developed as a playmaker with Baskonia C.D before progressing through the Athletic Bilbao academy.

He follows Ezkieta, Vladys, Beñat de Jesús and Toibibou among Cádiz’s summer arrivals.
