Ibson has urged Leonardo Jardim to deliver silverware at Flamengo, arguing only titles will make supporters move on from Jorge Jesus.

"Win titles. Flamengo are like that, you have just won one, he arrived and won, but it is no use losing the next games, the pressure at Flamengo is big, there is that demand, and to forget Jorge Jesus you need titles, that is how you are marked in history," Ibson said, speaking to ESPN.

"I believe he will use what Flamengo do best, which is possession. Of course he will try his final tweak, but I think Flamengo will keep the same style," the former No 7 added.

Jardim has started brightly, lifting the Carioca title against Fluminense on his debut, then beating Cruzeiro in the last round of the Brasileirão. The focus now is a first derby win in normal time.

On Saturday 14, Flamengo face Botafogo at the Engenhão in the sixth round of the Brasileirão, kick-off 20h30 Brasília time on Prime Video.

Now 42, Ibson joined Flamengo at nine and made his first-team bow at 18. Across spells from 2003 to 2005, 2007 to 2009 and 2012 to 2013, he won four Carioca titles and the 2009 Brasileiro.
