Inter Milan posted a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over Sassuolo yesterday, but their performance left Beppe Bergomi unimpressed.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInter1908, Bergomi slammed Inter’s habit of losing the intensity toward the end of the game.
Cristian Chivu was desperate to claim three points amid growing pressure.
Indeed, after overseeing a superb 5-0 win over Torino on his Serie A debut, Chivu lost two straight league games to Udinese and Juventus.
Therefore, he was under scrutiny heading into last night’s match despite beating Ajax 2-0 in the Champions League.
Sassuolo’s visit to San Siro seemed like a perfect opportunity for Inter to get back on the rails.
And the Nerazzurri seized the occasion to reduce the gap on Serie A pacesetters Napoli to three points.
However, the reigning Scudetto holders can restore a six-point lead with a win against newly promoted Pisa tonight.
Nonetheless, Inter held up their end of the bargain yesterday.

“I saw the usual Inter: the team keeps good possession,” Bergomi said. “However, in the final stages, after the 2-1 goal, the squad’s difficulties came to the surface.
“Sassuolo’s goalkeeper was excellent, and Inter deserved the win, but there was some struggle.
“I still maintain that I’d like to see a player in Inter who, when he enters, really intimidates the opponents.”
Then, Bergomi heaped praise on Petar Sucic, who registered his second assist in Serie A.
Indeed, the Croatian midfielder set up Federico Dimarco for the match-opener. Moreover, he looked confident in possession.
Despite hailing Sucic’s technical qualities, Bergomi believes the 21-year-old must improve his physical strength.
“Sucic is technically skilled, but that area of the pitch requires a lot of physicality and duels.
“There are qualities that Inter still lack. Sassuolo didn’t move out of their own half for the first 75 minutes.”
