Everton and Brighton will play at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on August 24 in the upcoming Premier League match. David Moyes’ team are under pressure after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Leeds United in the last match. Expectations are high as this is the first match in the new stadium, but the team’s recent performances are raising concerns. Let us take a look at how the Toffees will line up for this game.
Everton‘s goalkeeping responsibilities will be in the hands of Jordan Pickford, who will give the team a strong base with his experience and shot-stopping ability. Young O’Brien is likely to get a place on the right, who will try to stop Brighton’s attack with his pace and energy.
The centre back pair, James Tarkowski and Michael Keane, will be crucial for the backline. Tarkowski will provide leadership and strength in aerial duels, while Keane is expected to support him with his perfect positioning to thwart off attacks. James Garner can be deployed on the left, who will play an important role in moving the ball forward, along with maintaining defensive responsibility. The job of this backline will be simple – to slow down Brighton’s attacks and to concede as few chances as possible.

Everton’s midfield will try to maintain possession in this match. Idrissa Gueye will work as a defensive midfielder to break the opposition’s attack and protect the backline. Tim Iroegbunam will play with him, whose role will be box-to-box, and he will push the team into attack with his forward passing.
Three names will be important in the forward line as well. Iliman Ndiaye will create opportunities from the right side with his dribbling skills and pace. In the middle, Kieran Dewsbury-Hall will play the role of a playmaker with his line-breaking passes and creativity. On the left side, Jack Grealish will challenge Brighton’s defence with his cleverness and ball control. This midfield will strengthen Everton in both facets of their game.
Expectations will be attached to Thierno Barry in the forward line. He will play the role of a lone striker and will trouble Brighton’s defenders with his pace and movement. His responsibility will be to find goal-scoring opportunities by creating space between the lines of defence.
Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall behind him will provide him with constant support. Ndiaye’s job will be to provide crosses or cutbacks into the box for Barry. The goal of this attacking lineup will be to apply early pressure and push Brighton back, and make the most of the opportunities at the new stadium.
