It seems Trent Alexander-Arnold will be leaving Liverpool to join Real Madrid in the summer, so who will replace him?
Conor Bradley
Neither Alexander-Arnold nor his understudy Conor Bradley are fit, and with Joe Gomez injured, Jarrell Quansah started the Carabao Cup final defeat to Newcastle United.
According to transfermarkt, Bradley has missed 47 games through injury in the last two terms – not the injury record needed to be first-choice right back.
Of the 47 games, 16 have been this campaign, and the Reds have played 46 games during this season and have another nine to play.
Bradley has had some standout moments this term, including a crunching tackle on Kylian Mbappe in the 2-0 home Champions League victory over Real Madrid.
He assisted Alexis Mac Allister for the opener that night and Dominik Szoboszlai in the 4-0 Carabao Cup semi-final second-leg victory over Tottenham Hotspur.
But Liverpool will need to sign another right-back to somewhat relieve the load on Bradley who is still only 21.

Jeremie Frimpong
PA Media is reporting Liverpool have held initial talks over the signing of Jeremie Frimpong.
The right-sided Bayer Leverkusen wing-back or winger is understood to be of interest to the club, although sources have said the talks are at an early stage.
Their sources said the obvious “domino factor” that could accelerate the Reds’ interest would be Alexander-Arnold moving to Madrid.
Frimpong, 24, progressed through the youth ranks at Manchester City and then spent a season and a half at Celtic.
He helped Leverkusen become the first German club to go invincible in the Bundesliga, winning the title last season and reaching the Europa League final.
According to PA Media, Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea are also understood to have expressed an interest in the Dutch international.
He was also part of the Netherlands squad that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024.
Givario Read
According to Caught Offside sources, Liverpool and Barcelona have been in fierce competition with each other to sign Givario Read.
They claim the Reds see Read as a long-term solution at right-back, with Alexander-Arnold likely to move to Madrid.
Arne Slot favours the idea of working with Read again, who he managed at Feyenoord, hence why the Liverpool management have intensified their efforts to speed up the transfer.
Feyenoord are in a strong position due to his contract, which runs until 2028, and are looking for €25-30 million for the 18-year-old Dutch right-back.
Dutch football writer Joe Baker posted on X: “If Bradley is seen as first-team ready, Read is a good long-term option.
“If not, Read for me isn’t ready for Liverpool.”
Oscar Mingueza
According to Fichajes, Liverpool have set their sights on Spanish football, specifically on Oscar Mingueza.
They claim the Celta Vigo defender has caught the attention of the Reds’ scouts for his versatility, experience at the elite level, and room for growth.
According to their sources, Liverpool have already established contact with his entourage to gauge his willingness to move.
Redmen Reacts
It is, of course, all speculation at the moment.
I would personally start with Conor Bradley as first choice next season but bring someone in to challenge him.
A new left-back, centre-back and forward are also priorities for Liverpool.
This may soon be a league-winning squad, but a summer of change awaits.
