Star forward has taken off as a precaution at the weekend
Head coach Keith Andrews says his Brentford squad are nursing “a couple of knocks” amid uncertainty over Igor Thiago’s fitness.
The Bees will on Wednesday make the trip across London to take on Premier League table-topping Arsenal.
Thiago, who has 11 goals in 13 league games this season, was substituted in second-half stoppage time during Brentford’s 3-1 win over Burnley.
Andrews said after the game that the decision to withdraw Thiago was precautionary. Speaking on Tuesday, the Bees manager confirmed that there remain some fitness issues in the squad.
"We've got a couple of knocks and bruises," Andrews told reporters. "But you get that from a game like the one we had at the weekend.
"We've got a couple of bits and bobs that we'll have to decide on but, in the main, we're in a good place."
Thiago became the fastest Brentford player to reach double figures in the Premier League over the weekend as his late brace helped Brentford see off relegation-threatened Burnley at the Gtech Community Stadium.
After an injury-hit debut campaign, Thiago has enjoyed a scintillating start to life under Andrews, with Brentford sitting 10th in the Premier League table.
The 24-year-old made just one start for the Bees last season, with a meniscus injury and a joint infection restricting his involvement in what was a record-breaking season for Brentford.
Having returned to fitness towards the end of last season, Thiago has taken the Premier League by storm this term, helping Brentford defy the odds under Andrews.
