Tottenham Hotspur interim manager Igor Tudor has been charged with misconduct by the Football Association following his comments after their Premier League defeat at Fulham.
The charge relates to remarks Tudor made after Spurs’ 2-1 loss at Craven Cottage earlier this month.
The Croatian coach criticised referee Thomas Bramall, accusing him of favouring the home side during the match.
Tudor expressed frustration over Fulham’s opening goal, which he believed should have been disallowed.
The goal came after what he described as a push by Raul Jimenez on defender Radu Dragusin in the build-up.
Speaking after the game, Tudor said he felt the referee had given decisions consistently in Fulham’s favour.
“I didn’t like the referee today, too much of a home team referee,” Tudor said in his post-match interview.
He also claimed that the official “doesn’t understand football” and questioned his judgement on key incidents.
Tudor further accused Jimenez of “cheating” during the challenge that led to the opening goal.
The FA has now taken action over those comments, citing a breach of conduct rules.
In a statement, the governing body said Tudor allegedly acted improperly by implying bias and questioning the integrity of a match official.
The FA also stated that his remarks could be considered personally offensive.
Tottenham and Tudor have been given until Monday to respond to the charge.
The incident comes during a difficult period for Spurs on the pitch.
The defeat at Fulham was Tudor’s second match in charge after replacing former manager Thomas Frank.
Since then, results have remained inconsistent, with the club struggling to find form.
Tottenham currently sit just above the relegation zone with only a handful of games remaining.
The pressure on Tudor has increased as the club battles to secure Premier League survival.
The FA charge adds another layer of scrutiny to his short tenure in North London.
Attention will now turn to how both the manager and the club respond ahead of their next fixture.
The focus for Tudor remains on improving results while addressing the disciplinary issue off the pitch.
