Ihattaren supplies two assists as Fortuna Sittard withstand late Volendam push | OneFootball

Fortuna Sittard beat Volendam 2-1 at the Kras Stadion to stay 11th in the Eredivisie, leaving the hosts 14th.

Paul Gladon headed in from close range in the 19th minute from Mohammed Ihattaren's cross following a corner. Dimitris Limnios then glanced home another Ihattaren delivery (43.).

After the restart, Luuk Koopmans kept the visitors in front, tipping over efforts by Bilal Ould-Chikh and Yannick Leliendal as pressure mounted.

Substitute Robert Muhren pulled one back from Ould-Chikh's cross (80.). Joel Ideho and Anthony Descotte also injected pace down the right to force openings.

Volendam lost Dave Kwakman to injury before the interval, while Ihattaren was withdrawn with a knock soon after the break.

Volendam finished with 16 attempts and 61.4% possession as they chased an equaliser. Fortuna Sittard made 36 clearances, and Koopmans recorded four saves.
