A proposed switch that would have taken Iker Muniain from Salamanca CF UDS to San Lorenzo de Almagro has fallen through for now, as reported by as.com.
The Navarrese coach was unveiled by Salamanca CF UDS on 15 June. In recent days, Argentine outlets had indicated he was the chosen candidate and that his usual backroom staff would join him.
In the past few hours the operation collapsed. Muniain does not hold the licence required to work as a coach in Argentina, so he has reversed course and will continue with Salamanca CF UDS in the Segunda RFEF.
San Lorenzo were seeking a new manager during a delicate period for the club.
The saga has angered Salamanca supporters, who are disappointed with the former footballer after he came close to leaving less than 14 days after his appointment.
