Île-de-France will support Paris Saint-Germain’s choice over their future home, with backing envisaged if the European champions decide to remain at the Parc des Princes.
A few days ago, regional president Valérie Pécresse hosted Emmanuel Grégoire, the new mayor of Paris, for lunch. According to L'Équipe, the future of PSG’s stadium was among the topics.
Pécresse relayed that the region would back the club’s decision, and that if PSG opt to stay at the Parc des Princes the authority could assist with stadium improvements and transport links.
The region has also helped the club identify two suburban options under study, Poissy in Yvelines and Massy in Essonne.
Since the outset of the matter, the regional authority has made clear its preference for PSG to remain at their historic home by Porte de Saint-Cloud.
