“As things stand, I will not be going to the World Cup with Ghana,” he told Bild.

“I’ve decided to fully embrace everything I’m currently experiencing at Union and to continue playing for Germany’s U21 team.”

“After the conclusion of the U21 European Championship [in 2027], I will address the matter next year and make a decision.”

The Ghana Football Association have tried to recruit the forward, so far without success.

The 21-year-old joined Union from Paderborn last summer, and has five goals and two assists in 26 appearances for Union.
