Real Madrid have been handed a minor concern ahead of a crucial stretch in their season, with Vinicius Jr. returning from international duty showing clear signs of fatigue rather than injury.

According to a recent update from AS, the Brazilian forward reported back to training at Valdebebas but did not participate in any on-pitch activities in yesterday’s session.

Instead, the club opted for a carefully managed recovery plan to ensure he remains in peak condition for the decisive fixtures ahead.

What’s the story?

Despite being offered a rest day by the club, Vinicius decided to return to the training ground and focused on individual work.

The report highlights that he focused entirely on physiotherapy and recovery work, avoiding any physical exertion on the pitch.

Importantly, there is no injury concern surrounding the winger. The situation is purely down to accumulated fatigue following a demanding run of matches for both club and country.

Real Madrid’s medical staff have therefore chosen a cautious approach, prioritising long-term fitness over immediate involvement.

With just a few hours of close monitoring separating his recovery phase from a potential return to full training, Vinicius is expected to rejoin on-pitch sessions today.

However, there remains genuine uncertainty over his role in the upcoming clash against Mallorca.

The coaching staff are weighing whether to start him or manage his minutes carefully, especially with a high-stakes encounter against Bayern Munich on the horizon.

Meanwhile, yesterday’s training session saw most international players return, ensuring a near-complete squad for the coaching staff to work with.

The only notable absentee was Federico Valverde, who has been granted additional rest by the club.

Notably, the midfielder will miss the Mallorca fixture regardless, as he serves a one-match suspension after his red card against Atletico Madrid.
