Independiente del Valle will arrive in Rio de Janeiro in the early hours of Wednesday, ahead of Thursday’s Libertadores quarter-final second leg against Flamengo at the Maracanã.
According to Coluna Do Fla, the Ecuadorian side are scheduled to train on Wednesday at Fluminense’s training centre in the city, with the Rio club providing facilities.
That leaves just one day’s work in Rio before the tie, and the coaching staff plan to use the session for final adjustments.
Flamengo won the first leg 2-0 in Quito, so return home with a lead to protect.
With that advantage, Flamengo can lose by one goal and still reach the semi-finals. If Del Valle win 2-0 at the Maracanã, the tie will be decided on penalties.
The winners will meet Corinthians or Estudiantes, whose first leg ended 1-1 in Argentina. Their return match is on Wednesday at Neo Química Arena.
Kick-off at the Maracanã is 21:30 Brasília time on Thursday. The match will be broadcast by ESPN on pay TV and on Disney+ via streaming.
