Influential Liverpool midfielder Höbinger signs new deal | OneFootball

Liverpool midfielder Marie Höbinger has signed a new contract with the club.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Reds this afternoon.

The 23-year-old Austrian international midfielder joined Liverpool from Swiss club FC Zürich in summer 2023 and she has gone on to establish herself as one of the most important players in the team. Höbinger featured in every Barclays Women’s Super League fixture for Liverpool last season while she has enjoyed eight league outings for The Reds so far this term.

With Höbinger holding such an important role, Liverpool have moved to retain her services for an extended period.

After signing her new contract with Liverpool, Höbinger said “I’m so, so happy. I think it’s always an honour to play for Liverpool and I’ve enjoyed my time so, so much.

“Wherever I am, I want to be the happiest and the best of myself and I think the Liverpool environment makes it really easy.

“The football club, the city and all the people I work with every day give me the chance to get better every day and that’s exactly what I want.”

Liverpool are next in action on Friday evening when they play host to Brighton & Hove Albion in St Helens.
