Santos centre-back Ingryd Avancini has entered the second phase of her recovery, training with the ball and rebuilding fitness after ACL and lateral meniscus damage to her right knee sustained in May last year.

According to Diario Do Peixe, the defender could join full squad activities within about a month, which would put her back in contention for selection.

Signed in January 2025, Avancini started the first three matches of the Brasileiro Feminino A-2. She featured against Avaí/Kindermann and Atlético-MG, then was substituted in the first half of the 1-1 draw with Minas Brasília at Vila Belmiro on 3 May in round three.

She now vies for a place in Caio Couto’s side alongside Pardal, Isa Cardoso, Ana Alice, Rafa Martins and Emily Apolinário. Her contract runs until the end of this year.

The 27-year-old from São Paulo came through Juventus da Mooca and has also represented Centro Olímpico, Osasco, 3B da Amazônia, Flamengo, Valadares Gaia in Portugal and Red Bull Bragantino, where she spent the past five years.

Santos are also awaiting the comebacks of Thaisinha and Ketlen. The number 10 is in a physiotherapy-led transition after left knee arthroscopy on 18 November last year to repair cartilage and meniscus damage.

Ketlen, the number seven, has returned from maternity leave and is training with the group, though she is following a tailored reconditioning and readaptation programme.
