According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, CD Castellón are shaping their squad for next season and have Iñigo Córdoba on their list. The 29-year-old, out of contract at Burgos, offers pace, professional experience and the versatility to play across the front line.
Raised at Lezama, he was long seen as a major Athletic Club prospect. He broke into the first team and logged significant La Liga minutes, establishing himself as a regular wide option at San Mamés.
Intense competition in Bilbao sharpened him, and he gathered top-level experience in demanding environments. He then added further Primera División matches with Alavés.
A left-footed, quick and direct player, Córdoba attacks space and unsettles defences in transition. While primarily associated with the left wing, he has operated across virtually all attacking roles and strikes the ball cleanly. Those traits could suit Pablo Hernández’s system.
He can play on either flank or in central areas, as a No 10 or supporting a focal striker. That adaptability has helped him fit different systems and coaches. A move would represent a shift from Burgos’s defensive outlook to the orelluts’ more attacking approach.
Coaches also value his off-the-ball commitment, from counter-pressing to covering full-backs. After his Spanish top-flight spells he spent time in the Netherlands, broadening his game in a more open, dynamic league. He has been an important player for Burgos over the past two seasons in LaLiga Hypermotion.
