FC Barcelona will resume the defence of their La Liga title this weekend when they take on Catalan rivals Girona at Estadi Olimpic Lluis Companys.
Leading up to the game, the Blaugrana have received some positive news with regard to injuries as Lamine Yamal and Fermin Lopez have returned to normal training and could be available on 18 October.
However, the same cannot be said of key attacker Raphinha, whose involvement remains in doubt.
Now, according to Carlos Monfort of SPORT, Raphinha is pushing himself to return as soon as possible.
The Barça winger is training intensively, for now, within the gym – with his eyes set on the upcoming match against Girona.
Raphinha suffered a hamstring injury in the win against Real Oviedo a couple of weeks ago. The club initially announced an estimated recovery time of three weeks. Based on that timeline, the winger would not be ready for this weekend’s match.

But, the Brazilian international, a key player for Hansi Flick, is intent on making it back and is working hard to achieve his goal.
Within the club, there is an emphasis on exercising caution and avoiding unnecessary risks, as this type of injury can be delicate.
Flick considers Raphinha a key part of his tactical setup, and before accelerating his comeback, the medical staff will ensure that all sensations are positive.
Both the player and the club share the same goal: to be ready in time and approach the Clasico at the Santiago Bernabeu in the best possible condition.
The coming days will be decisive, as it is expected that the Brazilian will return to the training pitch to test himself at full intensity.
A final decision over his return to face Girona on Saturday will be made later this week, based on how his rehabilitation progresses.
