There was a real sense of hope that the ongoing season would be one of redemption for Gavi who had seemingly just overcome his ACL injury.
Unfortunately, however, the player soon needed a re-surgery on the same knee and has missed out on most of the season so far.
The period is indeed a difficult one for the La Masia star, but there is a growing sense of optimism over his recovery as it stands.
As relayed in a recent report by Mundo Deportivo, Gavi is now feeling pretty strong and much better on a physical level than he has in recent months. His recovery, thus, is indeed going well.
The report also adds that the player wants to make a comeback to the field in the month of February, which comes as a massive boost to Barcelona’s dynamics. Notably, however, that will likely only be his return to training and not to matches.

Speaking to the media in a recent interview, Gavi revealed that the timeline of his return had not changed and that his return to games may still be a long way off.
“I’m meeting the deadlines they’ve set for me, and so far, everything is going very well. In theory, in five months I should be ready to play,” he said, remaining cautious.
The projection, thus, is close to the end of the season but Gavi is hoping to beat that deadline and make a return to the field in under two months.
The final decision, needless to say, will be taken by the manager, the player himself, and the medical staff.
Gavi’s last appearance for Barcelona came against Levante in late August and he has thus been out for over three months now. He is desperate for a comeback, but Barcelona will hope to get it right with no further setbacks this time around.
