According to an update from Cule Mania, Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado is unlikely to make a return to the first team for the final matches of the season in May 2025.
This effectively means that his campaign has come to an early end, with no realistic chance of featuring again before the summer break.
It must be noted that Casado suffered a partial ligament tear in his right knee, and Barcelona confirmed that the injury would keep him sidelined for approximately two months.
The club decided against surgery, opting for a conservative treatment approach instead.
Initially, there was hope that he could recover in time for the final stretch of the season, possibly even making a late return if Barcelona reached the Champions League final.
However, the latest information suggests that it is ‘practically impossible’ for the midfielder to play again this season.
To put things in perspective, the uncertainty surrounding a partial ligament tear makes it difficult to predict an exact timeline for recovery.
Such an injury can range from a minor issue involving just a few torn fibres to a more significant tear affecting the majority of the ligament.
Medical experts consulted by the aforementioned outlet have expressed concern over Casado’s condition.

One specialist pointed out that the severity of a partial tear determines whether a player can return quickly or if a more cautious approach is required. If the damage exceeds one-third of the ligament, a longer recovery period is usually recommended.
Another doctor, Victor Lainez, shared a similarly cautious view, advising against rushing Casado back into action.
He stressed that pushing for an early return could pose serious risks, and it would be wiser for Barcelona to ensure he is fully recovered before next season.
“He won’t be ready for the end of the season; Barça must take care of him,” he said.
“If he has a partial tear, he has to be well cared for, and to play two or three games in a hurry, in poor condition, I would not take any chances.
“I would prepare everything so that he could come back next season in perfect condition,” he added.
There have been some reports suggesting that the actual recovery time could be shorter than the club’s initial estimate. However, it would be imprudent to risk a relapse by rushing Casado’s comeback.
