Enzo Barrenechea is putting in extra work to overcome a right shoulder dislocation and remain an option for José Mourinho.

According to Glorioso 1904, the 24-year-old has been strengthening the affected area on team rest days, splitting sessions between the Seixal training centre and home, and following an individual plan alongside group work.

The approach is conservative treatment, with regular assessments of his condition. Since the injury he has been carefully managed and has started only once.

That start came in the 4-0 win over Estrela da Amadora, and he was withdrawn at half-time as planned.

In a World Cup year, the Argentine wants to keep helping Benfica through to the end of the season and to convince Lionel Scaloni he merits a call-up.

This season he has played 32 competitive matches for Benfica, valued at 15 million euros. That includes 16 in Liga Portugal Betclic, 12 in the Champions League, two in the Taça de Portugal, one in the Taça da Liga and one in the Supertaça.

Across 2,448 minutes he has recorded one goal and one assist.
