'Insane': Barney Stewart on West Brom links after reported seven-figure bid rejected | OneFootball

Falkirk striker Barney Stewart has addressed speculation over a Championship move, calling the noise 'insane' amid talk of a rejected seven-figure bid from West Bromwich Albion.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, reports have suggested Albion saw an offer turned down, while Celtic and other Championship clubs have also been linked with the 22-year-old.

Stewart hit 10 goals in the second half of the SPL after a loan at Dunfermline, ended with 18 in 33 for the season, and scored a hat-trick against Hibernian following his Falkirk recall.

He said: “It is insane. If it was to happen it would be a massive step and a quick rise if it does happen and one I would have to take in my stride, but speculation is speculation.”

He was on QPR’s books as a teenager, then moved to Heriot-Watt University, completing a sports science degree while playing in the East of Scotland Football League and scoring more than 40 goals before joining Falkirk in 2024.

He made his debut in January 2025.
