If reports coming out of Italy are anything to go by, Manchester United fans can expect some developments over Jadon Sancho’s future this week.

The outcast winger has yet to seal a move away from Old Trafford despite the club making it clear from the outset of the transfer window that he’s available for sale.

However, there’s only so much United can do if the interest simply isn’t there, or if his extortionate wage demands are deterring potential suitors, such as Napoli.

Chelsea even went as far as forking out £5 million to bypass their £25m buy obligation and send Sancho back to Manchester. It’s thought that talks were held to try and negotiate a long-term deal, but his salary expectations prompted the Blues to call it quits.

While Sancho did show slightly more promise in a Chelsea shirt than he had since signing for United back in 2021, his performances still ultimately left much to be desired. In his final seasons at Borussia Dortmund, you wouldn’t have believed that at 25 years old, teams were paying to actively avoid signing him.

As things stand, the attacker is poised to pull the curtains on his Premier League career — for now at least — after not garnering any suitors inside England’s top-flight.

Where will Sancho end up?

Instead, Sancho is reportedly pushing to sign for Juventus, although it remains to be seen if they can fork out an upfront fee to take him off INEOS’ hands for good; any kind of loan deal poses no value to United, as his contract is due to expire in 2026.

Italian insider Gianni Balzarini claims the player’s situation could be resolved ‘in the next 10 days’, which bodes well for Ruben Amorim, as he will welcome his squad back to Carrington for pre-season training on July 7, and Sancho won’t be playing any part in it.

“I also believe that within ten days the situation of Sancho will be defined, who I am told is very keen to go to Juventus,” said Balzarini, as translated by TuttoJuve.

“Even if he is a very virtuous player, very strong technically, let’s say even a little to be recorded at the mental level for certain behaviors a little exuberant [doubts over his professionalism], let’s say so, however the player is eager, very eager, they tell me that he is putting a lot of pressure to go and play in Turin to wear the Juventus shirt and this is certainly very important.”
