Inter Milan were crowned Italian champions after a 2-0 win over Parma at San Siro on Sunday, sealing another league title in front of their own supporters.
Cristian Chivu’s side only needed a point to confirm top spot after results elsewhere had gone in their favour, but they made certain of it with a professional display. Marcus Thuram opened the scoring before Henrikh Mkhitaryan added a second to complete the job.
It is Inter’s 21st Serie A title and strengthens their place as one of Italy's most successful clubs, with only Juventus ahead of them on 36 championships.
The triumph marks a superb first season in charge for Chivu, who was appointed last summer after leaving Parma. The former Inter defender, who made 168 appearances for the club as a player, has now delivered his first major honour in management.
There was pressure on the Romanian when he replaced Simone Inzaghi, but he has answered doubts by guiding Inter back to the top of Italian football.
After finishing runners-up to Napoli last season, Inter regained the title they last won two years ago and have now claimed two Scudetti in the last three campaigns.
They could yet finish the season with a domestic double, with a Coppa Italia final against Lazio still to come later this month.
