Inter have long been linked with a potential move for Sassuolo’s Tarik Muharemovic, but now, a potential deal for Roma’s Evan Ndicka is looking like more of a possibility according to the latest reports in Italy.

Inter are looking to strengthen following their domestic double in 2025-26, and following the departures of Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian and likely Stefan De Vrij as well, the defence is a unit that will need addressing. There is also a possible scenario where Yann Bisseck leaves to join Bayern Munich.

Firstly, the Nerazzurri are increasingly likely to keep hold of Alessandro Bastoni, who had been linked with a summer move to Barcelona, but the Blaugrana have since decided to invest the vast majority of their limited funds on the purchase of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United instead.

In terms of new recruits, Inter have long been linked with Muharemovic and Udinese’s Oumar Solet.

Solet remains a possibility for Inter this summer, but reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport indicate that negotiating with Sassuolo for Muharemovic is looking increasingly complicated.

The Neroverdi are seeking a high fee for the Bosnian given that they will have to hand 50% of any transfer fee over to the player’s former club, Juventus. Additionally, Sassuolo are reportedly hoping for a string of strong performances from their defender at the upcoming World Cup, which might attract wider interest and boost his transfer price.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter are ‘uninterested’ in becoming engaged in a bidding war with wealthy Premier League sides, which Sassuolo hope might become a reality.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter might be more inclined to make a move for Roma’s Ndicka instead.

The Ivorian is a key member of the Giallorossi starting XI, but Roma know that they must raise around €60m in funds before June 30 in order to comply with Financial Fair Play regulations, and a big cash offer for a player like Ndicka or potentially Manu Kone may be difficult to turn down.
