Inter Milan have secured a contract extension for striker Francesco Pio Esposito, tying the 20-year-old to the club until June 2030 – with the formal signing described as imminent, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano reports that an agreement has been reached and includes a progressive salary structure, with annual increments tied to specific performance targets. Despite reported interest from Premier League clubs, Esposito is poised to sign the extension imminently, underscoring Inter’s commitment to his long-term development within their system.
The extension reflects Inter’s intention to keep Esposito at the club, with the Nerazzurri having no intention of selling the young striker. Clubs including Manchester United and Leicester City had reportedly expressed interest, while Napoli made an outright offer that Inter rejected.
Currently on loan at Spezia in Serie B, Esposito has been in outstanding form, contributing 14 goals in 27 appearances this season. His performances have bolstered Spezia’s promotion aspirations and significantly elevated his market value, making him the highest-valued player in Serie B.
His profile extends to the international stage. Esposito scored during Italy’s runner-up run at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup and was part of the victorious squad at the UEFA European Under-19 Championship the same year. He continues to feature regularly across Italy’s youth setups.
The renewal fits squarely within Inter’s broader strategy of securing young homegrown talent for the long term, ensuring that Esposito’s development continues within their system.
