Inter Milan boss Cristian Chivu heaped praise on his side following a standout 5-1 victory over Venezia in the Coppa Italia.
Speaking to Sport Mediaset via FCInterNews, the 45-year-old also delivered his verdict on Davide Frattesi’s performance.
Inter entered the match as clear favorites to qualify for the quarter-finals, yet they showed no signs of complacency.
Meanwhile, Chivu made numerous changes to the starting lineup that beat Pisa 2-0 on Sunday.
Indeed, Andy Diouf made his first start in Italian football since joining the club from Lens in August.
Furthermore, the Frenchman seized the opportunity, scoring the opening goal to hand Inter an all-important lead.
However, Diouf wasn’t the only home player to reach a career milestone tonight.
Francesco Pio Esposito scored his first goal at San Siro at the club level to double Inter’s lead.
Meanwhile, Marcus Thuram found the net on both sides of halftime, returning to the scoresheet for the first time since mid-September.
Finally, Ange-Yoan Bonny capped off a remarkable night for the Nerazzurri with his seventh Coppa Italia goal.

“There’s a long list of good things,” Chivu said after the game. “Maybe conceding a goal made us a bit angry. But that’s the mentality.
“I liked the attitude, the respect for the opponent. I’m happy for them.
“This is a group that knows how to perform, is motivated, and wants to build on the good work done over the past months.
“I’m pleased with the performance, especially for those making their first appearance at San Siro, referring to the Under-23 players.
“I’m also happy for Diouf, who played 90 minutes and scored. There were so many positive things tonight, and I’m proud of them.”
Chivu also gave a chance to several youngsters, including Matteo Cocchi, Matteo Bovo, and Leonardo Spinacce.
“It’s thanks to them and to the others who welcomed them into the group,” he stated.
“It’s not easy when you have a team that knows each other well.
“However, those who have been here for many years embraced these youngsters, who adapted well to the reality of this team.
