Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi included star striker Marcus Thuram in his starting eleven against Barcelona tonight.

Speaking to Prime via FCInterNews, the 49-year-old admitted the Nerazzurri can’t rely on one player to change things around.

Marcus Thuram has finally returned to full fitness.

Indeed, the Frenchman had struggled with an adductor injury in the past two weeks and had to skip the last three matches.

Worryingly for Simone Inzaghi, Inter lost all three without scoring a single goal.

However, with the 27-year-old set to partner with Lautaro Martinez in attack, Inter should be far more threatening in Spain.

Meanwhile, the Scudetto-winning manager doesn’t want the Nerazzurri to tuck themselves into a false sense of security.

Instead, he wants to see a collective effort at Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys against Europe’s most prolific team.

“Yes, Thuram will start,” Inzaghi confirmed before the kick-off.

“We had a light training session this morning, and the boy is feeling good,” the Inter coach added.

“We decided together with him and the staff that he could start.

“It’s been ten days since the minor issue he had. He’s an important player who we’ve missed a lot.

“However, one player alone can’t change a team that has reached this level by playing together.”

Then, he explained what it takes to beat a team like Barcelona.

“We’ll need everything. Barcelona, like Bayern, are a super-equipped team, and we’ll try to give our all again tonight.

“How’s our mindset? It’s good for sure, we didn’t like how last week went, but that’s part of the journey for almost every team.”

Thuram was decisive in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, setting up Lautaro on a platter with a cheeky flick.

Hopefully, he can be just as influential tonight and help fire Inter one step closer to a second Champions League final in three years.
