Beppe Marotta sees tonight’s Champions League semi-final second-leg clash between Inter Milan and Barcelona as a final.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, Marotta also hailed the atmosphere inside a sold-out San Siro.
Despite delivering an impressive performance in the first leg, Inter returned home with a bittersweet taste.
Wasting a two-goal cushion in a game like that is never easy to digest.
However, the Nerazzurri can work with a 3-3 draw, especially after beating Hellas Verona in the follow-up.
Tonight could be a landmark occasion for Simone Inzaghi.
Indeed, he could become the second Inter manager to guide the team to two Champions League finals.
Yet, the task is monumental, with Barcelona touching down in Lombardy hellbent on maintaining their quadruple dream.
On a positive note, Inter can rely on an intimidating atmosphere at San Siro after breaking a gate receipt record for Serie A clubs.

Given how both teams fared for most of the season, many had deemed this fixture ‘a final before the final.’
And the first leg lived up to that tag, yet reaching the final is the only thing that truly matters.
“It’s a special feeling,” Marotta stated. “On previous occasions, I reached the final, and hopefully we can repeat that experience.
“This has been a positive year from that point of view, but a club must above all win and compete.
“We are doing that, the season isn’t over yet. But in terms of sustainability, it will be a satisfying season.”
Meanwhile, Marotta admitted he expects Inter ‘senators’ to take more responsibility tonight.
“Yes, and I would also add the motivational aspect. This match is like a final since we’re starting from 3-3, and the away goals rule no longer applies.
“It’s like a final between two teams who both deserve it.
“I believe determination, combined with technical and tactical quality, will be a key factor. We’re ready, pushed on by this incredible crowd.
“These are magnificent nights for us and for Italian football as a whole.
“It’s a source of pride to represent Italy in the top international football competition.”
