Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta hailed Simone Inzaghi after yesterday’s ‘Golden Bench’ ceremony.

Speaking after the ceremony via FCInter1908, Marotta praised the 48-year-old’s achievements in the Nerazzurri dugout.

Despite reportedly trailing Atalanta’s Gian Piero Gasperini in the race, Simone Inzaghi won the award.

Indeed, the Inter boss deserved this flattering recognition for his outstanding work at the San Siro.

Atalanta’s Europa League triumph in 2023/24 had positioned Gasperini as a favorite.

However, Inzaghi leapfrogged his La Dea counterpart in the voting.

Beppe Marotta addressed the press after Inzaghi received the award at Coverciano.

“Well-deserved, we’re very happy for him because he truly earned it,” Marotta said.

“It’s a testament to how he is a serious professional and a very prepared young man.”

Meanwhile, Inzaghi will hardly let this prize mess with his focus as he aims to win a treble with Inter this term.

After a two-week hiatus from club football, Inter will lock horns with Udinese in Serie A next weekend.

Four points clear of second-placed Napoli, the Nerazzurri will be out to solidify their place at the top.
