Cristian Chivu is understood to want greater physical presence and athleticism in midfield.

And Goretzka’s height, power and experience at the highest level would address those needs.

The Germany international has been with Bayern since 2018 and brings extensive Champions League pedigree alongside nearly 70 caps for his country.

His combination of technical quality and physical strength could complement Inter’s existing midfield options.
