Inter Milan are weighing a move for Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel as they reshape their goalkeeping options, Tuttosport reports.
Yann Sommer is expected to depart after three years. Inter had looked at bringing Guglielmo Vicario back to Italy, but have stepped away from a €20 million-plus outlay and plan to hand Josep Martinez the gloves.
Martinez joined Inter in the summer of 2014 in a €14 million switch from Genoa. The 27-year-old has impressed in recent months, moving ahead of Sommer in Cristian Chivu’s pecking order.
David De Gea has been offered to Inter, but Provedel is viewed as a better fit for the role. The 32-year-old has been with Lazio since 2022 after arriving from Spezia, and his deal runs to June 2027.
Provedel has been sidelined since March with a season-ending shoulder injury, which opened the door for Edoardo Motta’s rapid rise. Lazio could keep the 21-year-old as starter, while Christos Mandas is unlikely to complete a permanent move to Bournemouth and may rejoin in the summer.
Before his injury, Provedel was enjoying a strong season under Maurizio Sarri, making 29 appearances in all competitions, conceding 30 goals and keeping 12 clean sheets.
