Cristian Chivu will make minimal changes for tonight’s Serie A clash with Cagliari, keeping his strongest available lineup largely intact with only two enforced defensive alterations from the side that beat Como, and leaving just a handful of genuine selection battles to resolve.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews, the Inter coach is not planning heavy rotation ahead of Tuesday’s Coppa Italia semi-final second leg against Como, with the Scudetto push taking clear priority in his thinking.
Sommer starts in goal as always. Akanji keeps his right centre-back berth.
Carlos Augusto comes in on the left, having already replaced Bastoni at the Sinigaglia in the second half, with De Vrij taking the central position ahead of Acerbi.
In midfield, Dumfries and Dimarco continue as wing-backs after the Dutchman’s midweek brace.
Calhanoglu remains the regista with Barella on the right and Zielinski on the left.
Although Mkhitaryan pushes for a starting berth, if Chivu opts to rotate some of his regular starters.
Up front, Thuram leads the line with Esposito currently ahead of Bonny for the second striking role.
The percentage battles according to Gazzetta: De Vrij vs Acerbi 60-40%, Esposito vs Bonny 70-30%, Zielinski vs Mkhitaryan 55-45%.
Lautaro Martinez and Bisseck remain unavailable through injury, while Sucic serves a one-match suspension.
