Fresh off a 3-0 battering of Cagliari in Serie A, Inter are looking to secure their first appearance in the Coppa Italia final since 2023.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri shared the spoils with Como in a tepid 0-0 first-leg stalemate last month.

However, Cristian Chivu has steered his side back on track since that disappointing performance at the Sinigaglia Stadium.

Despite missing Lautaro Martinez, Chivu’s men have won back-to-back league matches by an aggregate score of 7-3.

More importantly, one of those victories came against upcoming rivals Como, with Inter overturning a two-goal deficit to take three points.

Additionally, Marcus Thuram, who scored a brace to initiate the comeback, will lead the line tonight, looking to maintain his impressive form.

The Frenchman has scored in his last three Serie A outings, hitting top form just when Inter needed him most.

“It was one of our objectives,” Chivu said. “We understand how important the match is, and we will do everything to win it. We start from 0-0, it’s a do-or-die game with the chance to reach a final.”

Meanwhile, Chivu expects Como to put up a fight despite their winless run against Inter in the 21st century.

“It will be difficult for us and for them, as we have shown in every match we’ve played against them,” he added. “They can do many things well; they are not easy to face.”

Finally, he hailed Inter’s performances in the Coppa Italia this season.

“From the beginning, we have tried to give consistency to the work we’ve done, aiming to stay competitive until the end and to reach the end of the season with something to play for.

“We are there now, and we want to play for a place in the final.”
