Inter Milan Form Guide: Recent Results & Table Position

The Nerazzurri began their Coppa Italia campaign with a comfortable 2-0 win over Udinese back in December. But since then, they had their highs and lows in the league. The reigning Italian champions suffered an agonizing defeat at the hands of Juventus in last week’s Derby d’Italia, but retaliated with a labored victory over Genoa this weekend.

Simone Inzaghi’s team also had a rough patch with injuries in recent weeks, with Marcus Thuram becoming the latest casualty. That being said, Inter possess a formidable squad blessed with superb quality and almost unparalleled depth, so they have more than enough talent within their ranks to unleash a terrific starting lineup.

Lazio have been blowing hot and cold recently. They’re currently coming off two draws in Serie A. But while last week’s 2-2 with Napoli was at least encouraging considering the circumstances and the size of the opponent, the stalemate in Venezia left the Biancocelesti supporters both disgruntled and concerned, as the team produced one of its poorest displays of the season.

Nevertheless, the Aquile have been impeccable in cup competitions this season, so they’ll be looking to channel the mesmerizing performance they produced in the Round of 16 against Napoli, and perhaps restore some of the pride they lost the last time they clashed heads with the Nerazzurri.

As for their last meeting in the Coppa Italia, it ensued in January 2019. Inzaghi’s Lazio went on to beat Luciano Spalletti’s Inter in penalties to reach the semis. They went on to clinch the title at the end of the season.
Lazio’s most recent victory over Inter ensued in October 2021. This was Inzaghi’s first meeting against his former club, but Maurizio Sarri emerged victorious by three goals to one in that Serie A clash.
