Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez resumed full training today as he aims to return to the starting lineup Sunday’s clash against Roma.
According to Sky Sport Italia via FCInter1908, El Toro completed a regular training session with the rest of the squad earlier today.
Lautaro Martinez suffered a calf injury against Bodo/Glimt in mid-February.
Therefore, he has missed Inter’s last six matches in all competitions, with Cristian Chivu’s side picking up just one win in that sequence.
Moreover, the runaway Serie A leaders averaged just under a goal per game in the Argentine striker’s absence.
Marcus Thuram has been one of the reasons why Inter faltered without Lautaro.
Indeed, the Frenchman is currently on a five-game scoreless run in Serie A, last finding the net against Sassuolo in early February.
However, after scoring in France’s 3-1 win over Colombia last weekend, the 28-year-old has returned to training with renewed optimism.
Meanwhile, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is still struggling to shake off his hamstring injury.
As such, he continues to train separately from the team, and it is still uncertain whether he Chivu will have the veteran midfielder available on Sunday.
