It was a night Matteo Lavelli will remember for the rest of his career, as the young forward made his senior debut for Inter during the Nerazzurri’s convincing 3-1 win over Bologna at San Siro.
Introduced late in the match, Lavelli was able to savour the atmosphere of the stadium while taking his first steps at top level in an Inter shirt.
Speaking to Inter TV after the final whistle, via FCInterNews, the youngster admitted that the occasion carried its own challenges.
“It wasn’t easy, it was a new experience and I tried to adapt as quickly as possible,” Lavelli explained, highlighting the intensity and pace of senior football compared to youth level.

Lavelli also revealed the simple but reassuring message he received from Cristian Chivu before stepping onto the pitch.
“What did Chivu say to me? Nothing changes, do what you know how to do,” he said, underlining the trust shown by the coaching staff in allowing him to express himself naturally.
Asked about the players he looks up to, Lavelli made it clear that he is learning from those around him every day.
“Who do I take inspiration from? All of the Inter forwards in the squad, I take something from everyone,” he noted, pointing to the importance of observation and development within a competitive group.
Above all, the emotions of the night stood out.
“As an Inter fan, I enjoyed the most beautiful stadium to the fullest,” Lavelli said, summing up a debut that blended personal pride with a memorable team victory.
