Inter have set their sights on Roma’s Manu Koné and are willing to invest €50m to secure the midfielder’s services this summer.

Although the Roma ownership vetoed a potential sale a year ago, Inter have not abandoned their pursuit and now view the upcoming window as the ideal time to strike.

The Nerazzurri intend to take advantage of Roma’s troubling Financial Fair Play situation, which may force the capital club to sanction major departures to balance the books. The Frenchman is one of their most valuable players in the squad. For Inter, Koné represents a fundamental piece for the midfield of the future.

With the club ready to commit a significant fee, they hope the combination of Chivu’s long-standing interest and Roma’s financial pressure will finally pave the way for a deal to be reached.
