With the final international break before the 2026 World Cup ending, José Mourinho and Benfica have reason to be pleased with their players' national-team form.
O Jogo reports that the manager has been encouraged by his wide options, notably Dodi Lukebakio, Andreas Schjelderup and Sidny Cabral, and hopes they can reproduce that level back at Benfica.
Lukebakio, the No 11, starred for Belgium against the United States, scoring twice in a 5-2 win.
Schjelderup, 21, has featured once in this break but still made a major impression. He started against the Netherlands and struck a superb goal, drawing praise from team-mates and Netherlands captain Virgil van Dijk.
Cabo Verde's Sidny Cabral also caught the eye, delivering performances that put the full-back or winger in pole position for more minutes on the pitch.
Benfica now await their internationals' return, aiming to carry that momentum into the run-in.
