Inter’s Alessandro Bastoni on Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal: “Strongest player I’ve ever faced” | OneFootball

Serie A champions Inter take on Barcelona tomorrow in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League final and they will face the threat of Lamine Yamal once again.

The Spaniard had scored a delightful goal in the first leg and had put in a sparkling performace, leading the Simone Inzaghi state that he is the sort of talent that is seen only one in 50 years.

Yamal will be in action at the San Siro again tomorrow and Alessandro Bastoni was asked about the youngster and his ability.

At the press conference, the Italian revealed that Yamal is the best player he has come across. He said: “I think so, he’s the best player I’ve faced. I had already faced him with Spain and he was not at this level yet. I was impressed by the level he has reached, for his age and ability to create something on the pitch I think he is among the best.”

Bastoni was also asked about how Inter plan to stop Yamal from playing well and dominating the tie. The defender stated:

“We’ll have to do as we did in the first leg, double up on him and triple up on him without exaggerating, otherwise we’ll create too much space. Barcelona isn’t just Yamal, we have to work as a team otherwise individually we’ll struggle.”

It would be one of the biggest games of Yamal’s career and while he has played bigger games for Spain, the possibility of reaching a Champions League final presents a massive possibility for the teenager’s career.
