Simone Inzaghi feels that Inter Milan “don’t have the budget” of big teams, but still want to be ambitious.
The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after today’s Serie A win over Torino. He also claimed that there will be no injury recoveries against Lazio next weekend.
Inter Milan made a huge statement in the Champions League on Tuesday.
The Nerazzurri beat Barcelona in a hugely dramatic 4-3 win. This saw them book their place in the final by a 7-6 scoreline on aggregate after a wild semifinal tie.
Inter had knocked out German giants Bayern Munich in the previous round.
And the Nerazzurri also got eye-catching results against the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal in the league phase of the competition.
Having already reached the final of the Champions League in 2023, Inter have now firmly established themselves among the competition’s most formidable sides.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi spoke about his team’s win over Barcelona.
“I watched it again in the evening,” he said. “I was curious to watch the match from above.”
“We played a great match against opposition of the highest quality,” Inzaghi continued.
“We did well. Even the players who came off the bench gave us a big hand.”
“That’s the only way that you can fight for things like the Champions League,” said the Inter coach.
“They say that Inter defend deep,” Inzaghi noted. “But we know that we don’t have the budget of teams like PSG, Barcelona, or Bayern Munich.”
“But we know that with heart and organization, we want to do better than them.”
“We may not be the strongest team,” the Nerazzurri coach admitted. “But with that heart, we can compete with anyone.”

Meanwhile, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi gave his thoughts on the plans for the next week.
“We’ll definitely have a few days off,” he said. “Because the guys need a rest after such an intense fixture list.”
“As for the players who are out, I don’t think I’ll get any of them back against Lazio.”
“We’ll see who’s available for the last match against Como,” Inzaghi added.
“We’ll have to play two great matches against two quality teams,” the Nerazzurri coach made clear. “And train calmly with a good attitude, because anxiety gets you nowhere.”
Inter are currently without Lautaro Martinez, Benjamin Pavard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Davide Frattesi due to injury.
Meanwhile, Inzaghi also gave his thoughts on the performance of Nicola Zalewski.
“He’s doing very well,” said the Inter coach. “He’s settled into our team well, he’s a quality player.”
Of Zalewski playing in attacking midfielder, Inzaghi explained that “he grew up playing that role.”
“And then, he also knows perfectly well how to play at wingback.”
“We weren’t able to start players like Calhanoglu and Barella,” said the Inter coach. “So there was a chance to see Nicola along with Correa playing alongside Taremi.”
