Nerazzurri coach Simone Inzaghi says that striker Marcus Thuram is “more no than yes” to start tomorrow’s Serie A clash between Juventus and Inter Milan.

Inzaghi spoke in a press conference ahead of the Derby d’Italia, as reported by FCInterNews. He also hit out at a double standard regarding Inter and refereeing in the media.

Inter Milan take on Juventus in Serie A tomorrow.

And the Nerazzurri will be hoping to have one key player fit for the match in particular.

Marcus Thuram is currently a doubt for tomorrow’s Derby d’Italia clash.

The Frenchman took a blow to the ankle during Monday’s Serie A clash with Fiorentina.

Therefore, the last few days have been very much touch-and-go for Thuram’s fitness.

Naturally, Thuram is doing everything he can to be ready for tomorrow’s match. But the doubt is very much there.

Inzaghi: “More No Than Yes” That Marcus Thuram Can Start Juventus Vs Inter Clash

As far as fitness for tomorrow’s match, Inter coach Inzaghi said that “I’ll evaluate after today’s training session.”

“Dimarco is back,” he continued. “As is Dumfries.”

“And today, we’ll evaluate Thuram. He’s still feeling a bit of pain.”

Inzaghi noted that Thuram “hasn’t been training with us over the last few days. He’s been working individually.”

“We’ll see how he’s feeling,” said the Inter coach. “We know how important he is for us, but right now it’s more no than yes.”

“On Monday he said that he could play on after he took a blow to the ankle in Florence,” Inzaghi noted of Thuram. “But then he had to come off.”

The Inter coach said that Thuram “has received treatment over the last few days.”

“Let’s see if he’s able to give us a hand.”

“The other strikers are also doing well,” continued the Inter coach. “Arnautovic is training with the team, Correa is back, and Taremi has also done well.”

Meanwhile, the Inter coach declared that “Everyone is doing well in defense.”

“I’ll have to choose between Pavard and Bisseck, Acerbi and de Vrij, and Bastoni and Carlos Augusto.”

“Dimarco is back. Zalewski has made two great appearances and is fitting in very well.”

Inzaghi: “Inter Get Treated Differently” In Italian Media

Meanwhile, Inzaghi vented about some recent incidents involving refereeing and Inter. “I said that I was angry after the match against Milan,” the Nerazzurri coach admitted.

“Because after four or five things going against us, we’re human, and I was thinking about my Inter.”

“If something happens that goes against Inter, there’s almost no mention of it [in the media]”, noted Inzaghi.

“I raised the alarm. And then we got further evidence of it on Monday.

“People are still talking about the corner that we were awarded when the ball went out,” Inzaghi complained about the media frenzy.

“And then the match against Leverkusen comes to my mind. A corner was given against us in the ninetieth minute after an offside not given.

“We lost the match. But nothing was said, even though it meant that we had to play right to the last match to qualify for the knockouts.

“And it also put us further back in the table, which damaged us financially,” Inzaghi noted.

“When it’s about Inter, there are whole television shows about it and people talk about it for days. When the opposite is true, it’s never talked about,” the Inter coach vented.

“Without talking much about the referees or coaches. Because there will always be errors. I just wanted to defend my work, the work of the staff and the players.”

Juventus “A Quality Team” – “Very Happy” With Mehdi Taremi

Meanwhile, Inzaghi called Inter’s opponents tomorrow, Juventus, “a quality team.”

“They’re coming off the back of three straight wins. Against PSV they were very aggressive.”

Meanwhile, of the wild 4-4 draw in the last meeting with Juventus, the Inter coach said that “Some time has passed, but we’ve watched it back.”

“We had a very good first half,” Inzaghi said of the Derby d’Italia in October.

“We did very well in attack. But we had to work better as a team in defense.”

“We made some errors that meant that we weren’t able to win a match that we’d had in hand.”

And Inzaghi said that striker Mehdi Taremi “has had a great first half of the season.”

“Then he had a bit of a problem that slowed him down.”

Inzaghi noted that Taremi “was used to being a starter” at Porto. “Then here there’s more competition.”

“He was recovering well and I was very happy with him. Then in Lecce on the penalty he felt a bit of a problem with his adductor.”

“Over the last 15-20 days he hadn’t been at his best in training,” Inzaghi said of Taremi.

“But he’s been better in the past few days. He’s a worker. A positive player, which I like.”
