Promoted Ipswich Town could well be staring down the barrel of another Premier League campaign which ends in relegation, if history teaches us anything.

After a bright start to their top-flight return in the vein of a 2-1 home win against Sunderland to begin the 2026/27 season, Gary O'Neil's side were met with two defeats in the aftermath

Today, they're level with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, and though it may only be the fourth match weekend of the new season, it's defined by the Tractor Boys' inability to keep a clean sheet. 

Anan Khalaili's 14th-minute opener for the Eagles, his first for the club since his summer arrival from Belgian outfit Union Saint-Gilloise, confirmed Ipswich have now gone 23 consecutive Premier League fixtures in which they've surrendered a goal.

Luck may well end up on their side today, though, thanks to an equaliser from summer addition Emersonn (23'), and a 34th-minute Axel Disasi red card that allowed the East Anglia side to take the lead with a Leif Davis strike on the stroke of halftime.
