Ipswich Town have made an approach to sign Lille OSC defender Alexsandro (26), according to a report from Fabrizio Romano

LOSC may lose yet another centre-back this summer; they have been in the habit of doing so. In 2024, Leny Yoro left to join Manchester United and last summer, Bafodé Diakité left to join AFC Bournemouth. The Premier League could be Alexsandro’s next destination, too.

The Brazilian joined Lille for just €2m back in 2022 from Chaves. He has excelled at the heart of the defence and even earned his first call-up to the Brazil squad last summer. However, it has been an injury-hit campaign for the defender. He has been limited to just 11 appearances in all competitions, and he could now depart, Romano understands.

Ipswich Town, now managed by former RC Strasbourg Alsace manager Gary O’Neil, have made an initial approach. Talks between the clubs are underway, with Les Dogues valuing their defender at €30m. There are other clubs in the race.
