Ipswich Town sign Bristol City midfielder Meena on loan | OneFootball

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Bristol City midfielder Malaika Meena on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

The Tractor Girls announced news of the deal via a post on their official club website this evening.

The 22-year-old midfielder signed for Bristol City last summer after completing her college career in the United States with Wake Forest University. Meena has made nine appearances for Bristol City in all competitions this season.

Prior to her move to America, Meena developed within the academies of Barclays Women’s Super League giants Arsenal and Chelsea.

On the international stage, Meena has represented England at various youth levels up to and including Under-23 level.

After joining Ipswich Town on loan, Meena said “I’m so excited to be here.

“I think it’s an exciting project and I’m really looking forward to being a part of it.

“I want to help the girls move up the table and I can’t wait to get out there to help build on the past two performances.”

Meena is Ipswich Town’s second signing on Transfer Deadline Day. The Tractor Girls have also signed winger Nelly Las on loan from Leicester City until the end of the season.
