Iran have set 10 conditions for their participation in the World Cup, scheduled from 11 June to 19 July in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Their involvement remains uncertain since late February after strikes by the United States and Israel against the Islamic Republic.
Federation president Mehdi Taj said missing the tournament would mean losing a major diplomatic asset. He added that Tehran had demanded guarantees over how the team would be treated.
The conditions cover visas, respect for staff, the Iranian flag and anthem, plus heightened security at airports, hotels and on routes to the stadiums where the team will play.
Taj said the squad would travel to Türkiye at the end of the week, stay for 10 to 15 days, then seek a charter flight to the United States.
FIFA president Gianni Infantino has reiterated that Iran will play their World Cup matches in the United States. Iran are due to be based in Tucson, Arizona, and face New Zealand, Belgium and Egypt in Group G.
