Iran to arrive in United States on eve of New Zealand opener | OneFootball

Iran’s delegation will travel to the United States on the eve of their opening match against New Zealand on 16 June at 3.00 in Los Angeles, the federation said.

The team will have to leave US territory immediately after each match.

Based in Mexico since February because of tensions linked to the war in the Middle East between the United States and Iran, the squad has been operating outside the host nation.

Securing visas for the players proved difficult, and some members of the backroom staff did not receive them.

For their remaining group games, Iran plan to be in place two days beforehand, facing Belgium in Los Angeles on 21 June at 21.00, then Egypt in Seattle on 27 June at 5.00.
